दिल में रहकर अनजान रहा,
वो शब्द की कीमत क्या जाने,
ना देख सका बहते आँसूं,
अल्फाज भला क्या पहचाने।

फिर क्यूँ लिखें जज्बातों को,
कोरे कागज पर अश्कों से,
हम क्यूँ छेड़ें दिल राग बता,
कोरे कागज पर अश्कों से,
रख पायेगा ये कागज क्या,
जज्बात छलकते आंखों के,
जब उसने कद्र नही जाना,
जो बसा हुआ था साँसों में,
पत्थर भी नीर बहाता है,
इंसान पिघलना है मुश्किल,

उसका आना अब है मुश्किल,
फिर याद करूँ मैं क्यूँ उसको,
परवाह जो मेरी ना जाने,
अल्फाज सुनाऊँ क्यों उसको,
जो दर्द हमारी ना जाने।

ऐ मेघ हमारे साथ बरस,
हर याद बहाना है उसकी,
जो छोड़ गए हैं पास मेरे,
सिलवटें मिटाना है उसकी,
हस्ती मेरी मिट जायेगी,
उसकी हर याद मिटाने में,
है पता हमें रुक जायेगी,
धड़कन हर याद मिटाने में,
गर आग लगे मरुअस्थल में,
संभव है जेठ बरस जाए,
पर आग लगी दिल में मुश्किल,
वो आकर उसे बुझा जाए,
फिर याद करूँ मैं क्यूँ उसको,
जो तड़प,वेदना ना जाने,
मैं शब्द बिखेरूं क्यों अपने,
जब दर्द हमारी ना जाने।

vo shabd kee keemat kya jaane,
